Dr. Hazle’s many years of experience with telepsychiatry lend insight as he talks about testing a mobile app designed to help doctors and caregivers better manage medications, in this case specifically for Autism Spectrum Disorders. Dr. Hazle, along with the other researchers and sites in the study, used Med smartCapture and the Behavior Connect platform to “prescribe” video capture assignments to patients to observe both behavior and self-reporting. These videos could then be reviewed by the doctors and researchers to both manage the medication and/or send further behavior capture prescriptions.
Thanks goes to Autism Speaks for a research grant enabling the study that has produced positive outcomes for the development of this app.
